Fujitsu Introduces FlexRay(TM) Controller, New High-Performance 8-bit and 32-bit Microcontrollers at Embedded Systems Conference in Boston

Industry Leader in FlexRay Technology in Booth 1009 at Hynes Auditorium

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 13 -- Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) will show its new FlexRay(TM) controller, new 8-bit microcontrollers, and new 32-bit microcontrollers at the annual fall Embedded Systems Conference in Boston. The new products will be at booth 1009.

The new Fujitsu FlexRay controller, the MB88121, is an application- specific standard product that supports FlexRay version 2.0. Based on IP developed by Robert Bosch GmbH, the MB88121 delivers 10 Megabit/second bandwidth, and provides fault-tolerant, deterministic data transmission, which are required for engine control, braking and steering subsystems now being designed using the FlexRay protocol.

8-Bit MCUs for Home and Consumer Electronics Products
The new MB95F136H, MB95F128H, and MB95F118H high-performance 8-bit MCUs are the latest additions to the Fujitsu F2MC-8FX family, expanding its range to meet the diverse requirements of the consumer electronics market. All three new microcontrollers are designed for use with 5V single-cell power supplies, and each can also be used with 3V supplies. They have been designed to function temporarily at reduced power in order to adapt to power supply fluctuations.

32-Bit MCU Supports Control Area Network, Local Interconnect Network
The new Fujitsu MB91270 MCUs integrate a 32-bit CPU core with an innovative multi-level communications interface that supports an industry- leading 11 channels. They are designed for automotive applications, and support the Controller Area Network (CAN) and Local Interconnect Network (LIN). The new ICs deliver maximum processing power to the control units that supervise vehicle airbag sensors, anti-lock braking systems, vehicle air conditioners, and other safety and comfort systems. Each MCU also incorporates a 24-channel AD converter for analog signal input from sensors, and deliver the speed and overall performance required to manage 11 channels of simultaneous data input.

Fujitsu's microcontroller family includes general-purpose 8-bit, 16-bit and 32-bit MCUs, as well as specialized integrated circuits for peripheral control. Fujitsu's microcontrollers are widely used in automobile design, and in home, industrial and consumer applications.

With their wide range of products with LIN and CAN interfaces, Fujitsu's MCUs are the standard solution for automotive applications such as body and comfort electronics, climate control, dashboards, infotainment, safety and sensor electronics.
