New Packet Optical Networking Platform Combines Ethernet, ROADM and SONET Breakthroughs with Large-Scale Deployment Experience
New York, NY, October 18, 2007 - Fujitsu Network Communications, a leading supplier of IT and wireline/wireless networking solutions, announced today that their FLASHWAVE® 9500 Packet Optical Networking Platform (Packet ONP) has been named "Best New Product - Public Company" by Light Reading as part of their Leading Lights Award Program for 2007. The platform provides a unique modular integration of three fundamental technologies - connection-oriented Ethernet, ROADM and SONET - into a single addressable optical networking class element that dramatically lowers the cost of deploying and operating the packet-centric metro networks that today's carriers demand.
