Fujitsu and Suncoast Solutions Team to Deliver Biometric Authentication and Password Management Solution for Healthcare Environments

New Biometric Authentication System Will Feature the Fujitsu Award Winning PalmSecure(TM) Sensor and Suncoast Solutions' Software System

Utilizing Fujitsu PalmSecure technology and Suncoast Solutions' software system, users will benefit from new features including single sign on function as well as password management that is contactless and hygienic, ensuring rapid and highly secure access to mission critical applications.

Additionally, Joel Hagberg, vice president, marketing and business development, Fujitsu Computer Products of America will be keynoting Suncoast Solution's 5th annual Users' Conference in Clearwater Beach, FL on November 17. During his address, Mr. Hagberg will discuss how Fujitsu has been able to leverage more than twenty years of industry leading image recognition and processing expertise to develop the palm vein recognition technology at the core of the PalmSecure solution -- and how this technology will be put to use to deliver a secure access device to Suncoast Solutions and its customers. The Fujitsu PalmSecure device will also be showcased at the Conference Lab, which is running from November 13-17.

The Fujitsu PalmSecure biometric authentication device provides a contactless, hygienic and non-invasive means to authenticate identity by leveraging each person's unique palm vein architecture. The sensor works by capturing a near-infrared image of the palm vein pattern. The proprietary algorithm takes this data, converts it into a digitized biometric template, and then matches it against a pre-registered template.

In addition to providing physical access control, the Fujitsu PalmSecure sensor can also be used for data security, acting as a gatekeeper for computer and network access. The PalmSecure biometric device can be connected directly to the USB port of a notebook PC, or embedded into desktop PC keyboards.
