Free Live Sports Scoreboard Debuts on Pocket Express

Scores, Stats, Schedules all Updated on the Go - Just in Time for Bowl Season
KANSAS CITY, MO - (28 November 2006) - Handmark® today announced an upgrade to its award-winning Pocket Express(TM) mobile Internet experience, bringing sports fans the instant access to information they crave. All users can now access scores and information from major sports in real time, be it inning by inning, quarter by quarter or half by half. The new Express Scoreboard service is a part of the free Express package that also includes worldwide news and photos from the AP, team by team detailed coverage and AP sports photos, and detailed weather forecasts for more than 2-million locations around the world.
The enhanced features come at a time when mobile sports information and entertainment services are increasingly sought out by the consumer market. Analyst firm Juniper Research recently forecast the global market for mobile sports content and services will grow at an average annual growth rate of 27 percent, to $3.8 billion dollars by 2011. Juniper pointed to inconsistent end-user experience as something that has held the market back to this point, something Handmark claims it is addressing with Pocket Express Scoreboard.

In addition to the sports scoreboard, the new release of Pocket Express also features a scrolling banner across the top of the PageOne interface with the top news headlines of the day. The PageOne and Extras tabs are now located on the left side of the screen for easier navigation. The sports scoreboard is located at the top of the Express Sports list, above News and Sports leagues.
