Free Conversion Analysis Reveals Viability of Converting Metal, Wood and Plastic Parts to Rotationally Molded Plastic

Projected Cost Savings Included

Ashtabula, OH: Custom rotational molder Meese Orbitron Dunne Co., Ashtabula, Ohio (www.Rotomolding.com) has introduced a free conversion analysis service. Devised to assist OEMs in strengthening product quality while saving on manufacturing costs and speeding lead times, the new conversion analysis service tasks the award-winning MOD engineering team with reviewing a product, part or design and assessing whether it may be more effectively manufactured in plastic by rotational molding or as a wholly integrated design involving multiple processes. If a conversion is determined to be viable, a cost savings projection is provided to document the savings likely to be earned. Parts and products currently manufactured from or in development as metal, wood, concrete, fiberglass, plastic and other materials are eligible for review as part of the free service.

MOD has earned multiple "Conversion of the Year" and "Product of the Year" awards for Titleist, Hobie Cat, Alcon Laboratories and other companies from the Association of Rotational Molders International citing excellence in design and manufacturing. Cutting the parts count, reducing the weight and eliminating assembly steps and secondary operations are among the upgrades that typically result from an MOD conversion. To participate, design engineers, purchasing managers and others may email a CAD drawing, rendering or photo of the part, product or design to tcooper@modroto.com.
