Frame Grabber executes hardware JPEG compression.

Press Release Summary:

Model 617 combines functions of 16 x 4 video crosspoint switch, frame grabber, hardware JPEG compression, and digital I/O into one PCI board. It features capture at 30 fps for interlaced NTSC and 25 fps for PAL, 16 video inputs, 4 real-time outputs, and 32 digital I/O lines. Channel-to-channel switching delay is minimized by 4 decoders. Text overlay buffer is provided for frame annotation and uncompressed frames are available for external motion detection.

High Quality JPEG Frame Grabber

Model 617 JPEG Frame Grabber combines the functions of a 16 x 4 video crosspoint switch, frame grabber, hardware JPEG compression and digital I/O into one PCI board. Model 617 features capture at 30 fps for interlaced NTSC and 25 fps for PAL, 16 video inputs, 4 real-time outputs and 32 digital I/O lines. With the improved chrominance/luminance, advanced filtering and low noise, the Model 617 offers high quality video capture. Channel-to-channel switching delay is minimized by using four decoders. Model 617 incorporates a text overlay buffer for frame annotation and uncompressed frames are available for external motion detection. The 617 executes hardware JPEG compression to greatly reduce the amount of memory needed to store images. Also available is model 617-4 for a lower cost version of the 617 with just four video inputs, four real-time video outputs and 16 digital I/O signals, allowing an overall board throughput of 120 fps for 320 x 240, 60 fps for 640 x 240 or 30 fps for 640 x 480 interlaced frames. Model 617 is supplied with a software developers kit and includes drivers for Windows. Linux driver is under development. The price for a single 617 is $891.
