FPI Pumps, Inc. Provides All Stainless Steel Axial Flow Propeller Pumps in Four Weeks

QUOTED, ENGINEERED AND MANUFACTURED IN FOUR WEEKS

Pompano Beach, Florida

When the flood control pumps in the City of Fort Lauderdale's S-2 storm water pumping station needed to be replaced, city maintenance supervisor Greg Duty knew that FPI Pumps, Inc., an Axial Flow Propeller Pump manufacturer based in Pompano Beach, was the company he could count on. Three of the City's flood control pumps, built by a competitor, needed to be replaced. Mr. Duty was already familiar with the quality of FPI's pumps, through previous units the company had supplied to the city. However, Mr. Duty now had a need for pumps that could be built quickly for a critical flood control zone in the popular, trendy New River area of the city. Additionally, the specification called for Stainless Steel construction throughout, due to the brackish (fresh water/sea water) mix the pump would see.

Mr. Duty called FPI and touched base with FPI's General Manager Tim Owens, explaining his need for three Axial Flow Pumps designed to remove the salty water from this extremely critical pump station. Mr. Owens, in concert with FPI's Engineering and Sales staffs, was then able to come up with a quote for the pumps within 24 hours. The specifications called for the S-2 station's three new Stainless Steel Pumps to be built within a month, and have the capability of pumping a combined 69,000 GPM of water at 8 feet of lift. The 30" discharge units are powered by 75 HP electric motors operating at 600 RPM.

FPI quoted, engineered and manufactured these built-to-order flood control pumps within four weeks. In addition, FPI provided removal of the old pumps. It was a win-win for the City of Fort Lauderdale; they received three competitively priced All 316L Stainless Steel Pumps, backed by FPI's two-year warranty, under budget and on time. FPI saved the day for the City of Fort Lauderdale, and again demonstrated expertise in the manufacturing of Axial Flow Propeller Pumps which are used throughout the world.

FPI is a leading manufacturer of Axial Flow Propeller Pumps for High Flow/Low Head applications in Irrigation, Storm Water/Flood Control, Aquaculture, Municipal Water Plants, Cooling Towers and Industrial Plants. The company is a member of the Hydraulic Institute, is ISO9001:2000 certified and has been at the same location in Pompano Beach, Florida since 1937.
