Fox Thermal Instrument's Model FT1 Receives Second Award Win
MARINA, Calif. – Processing Magazine recently announced the 2015 Breakthrough Products of the Year and the Model FT1 Thermal Mass Flow Meter by Fox Thermal Instruments has been given this prestigious award.
Fox Thermal Instruments has expanded its product line with the addition of the FT1 Thermal Mass Flow Meter. The FT1 is a high-end flow meter, and it features a robust design. Among its advanced features are:

The FT1 was designed to be used in the most common gas monitoring applications. It is ideal for applications monitoring natural gas, air, and digester gas. In addition, with its rugged-design, the FT1 is ideal for heavy industrial applications in HVAC, paper, glass and ceramics.
The DDC-Sensor provides a technology platform for calculating accurate gas correlations.  The FT1 correlation algorithms allow the meter to be calibrated on a single gas in the factory while providing the user the ability to select other gases in the Gas-SelectX™ gas menu. The gas selection menu has recently been expanded to include a total of 11 pure gases and a 3-Gas Mix. Current pure gases are: Air, Argon, Butane, Carbon Dioxide, Helium, Hydrogen, Methane, Natural Gas, Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Propane.Â
If the 11 pure gases listed in the gas selection menu aren’t right for a particular mix, the new 3-Gas Mix option allows the user to choose any 3 pure gases (not including Natural Gas) from the menu and mix them in 1% increments to total a 100% custom mixture.
This makes the FT1 ideal for measurement of Digester Gas, Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) and a variety of other biogases. Whether you need to measure natural gas or air, CO2 or digester gas, the FT1 brings these options and more to the user with a quick push of a button.
The FT1’s Zero CAL-CHECK™ feature allows users to confirm that the meter is functioning properly and accurately -- with just a simple push of a button.Â
Other FT1 features:
One standard 4 to 20mA output for flow or temperature
A second output selectable for either:
- Pulse output (pulses per unit/units per pulse); or
- RS485 Modbus RTU or BACnet MS/TP
FT1 View™ software allows easy adjustments to the meter configuration, evaluation of alarm conditions, collection of process data, and measurement viewing from your PC or control station. Moreover, this software can be used to initiate Zero CAL-CHECK™ -- and it automatically logs the results of each Zero CAL-CHECK ™ test. If any regulatory submission is required, the software will generate a certificate for easy recordkeeping.
A USB connection port comes standard on the new Model FT1 which allows quick and easy access with a laptop.
