Onset Computer Corporation Expands HOBO® U12 Family with Two New Data Loggers

BOURNE, MA, January 26, 2004 - Onset Computer Corporation, the leader in reliable, battery-powered data loggers, today announced that it has added two new models to its line of HOBO U12 high-resolution, direct-USB data loggers.

The new loggers, which include the HOBO U12-006 4-channel indoor, and HOBO U12-008 4-channel outdoor/industrial, accept up to four external sensors for measuring AC current, 4-20mA, DC voltage, temperature, and Carbon Dioxide (C02). This enables HVAC contractors, facilities and energy managers, and maintenance technicians to easily and affordably solve a broad range of indoor and outdoor energy, HVAC and industrial monitoring applications including:
o Energy audits
o Building commissioning
o IAQ studies
o Temperature set-back strategies
o Comfort complaints
o HVAC/R systems troubleshooting

Like other HOBO U12 loggers, the new models provide 12-bit resolution measurements for detecting greater variability in recorded data, direct USB connectivity for convenient, high-speed data offload, and a 43K measurement capacity. They also feature rugged enclosures for enhanced product durability, and accept the same wide range of external sensors and input cables as the company's HOBO H8 loggers, including external temperature, CO2 AC Current sensors, and 4-20 mA and DC Voltage cables.

To plot and analyze data recorded with HOBO U12 loggers, users can choose between Windows® and Macintosh-based software options depending on which platform they use. GreenLine(TM) software (for Windows), and HOBOware(TM) software (for Macintosh), enable users to launch and readout U12 loggers with point-and-click simplicity, and offer a number of other convenient features, such as one-click conversion of data for easy upload into spreadsheet applications and the ability to view multiple channels from a single logger on one graph.

The new HOBO U12-006 and U12-008 loggers are priced at $119 and $199 U.S., respectively, and will begin shipping in February 2004. Greenline and HOBOware software packages are priced at $59, and are currently available from Onset.
