Wasino's Winstar - Built from the Ground Up for Precision Grinding

Rolling Meadows, IL (October 25, 2002) - Every aspect of Wasino's Winstar CNC Forming Grinder is designed with accuracy in mind. In fact, the Winstar provides positioning accuracy of 0.0000018". This column type machine with an extremely long table stroke features robust construction and a range of features to ensure precision.

The Winstar's built-in active thermal feedback monitorng system ensures stable temperatures in the main spindle and motor, the x-axis ball screw and the coolant system. Stable overall temperatures result in greater accuracy and repeatability.

Developed by Wasino. a low-vibration, oil-cooled spindle motor of 3.7 kW-4P promotes precision. It's front is supported with combined quadruple 55 mm ultra high-precision angular bearings for higher rigidity. What's more, both vertical and cross feed systems on the Winstar include guide ways composed of high-rigidity linear roller guides and slide ways for accuracy and rigidity with a high-damping ratio. Both systems also consist of upsized high-precision ball screw and precision bearings (40 - 50 mm) for greater rigidity. The Winstar provides a stable platform with a robust weight of 12,000 lbs. Linear scale feedback on the reciprocation table further enhances machine accuracy.

The Winstar easily handles complex operations through Wasino's Numerical Intelligent Controller. This controller features conversational programming and canned cycles that can be created interactively without programming knowledge. A wheel library of complex dressing cycles is built in for added ease of use.

Some applications using the Winstar include powdered metal punches, electronic connectors, assembly machine parts and precision machine parts.
