Sun Chemical Introduces New Formable Inks - CXX Range

CXX range designed specifically for automotive fascias

FESPA, Munich. As automotive design becomes increasingly advanced and high-spec so do the striking intricacies of materials and components used. Automotive fascias, such as speedometers today call for 3D designs, which in turn require robust formable inks, to create the right level of visual impact on the dashboard. Sun Chemical is introducing the CXX range, a uniquely developed range of formable inks for 3D appliqués. CXX series is the first ink range to be specifically formulated for 3D automotive fascias. With consistent formability, the inks can withstand the necessary elongation - a crucial part of the application process, without impacting upon colour density, opacity or print appearance.

CXX is part of Sun Chemical's, newly introduced SunHytek(TM) family, bespoke ink solutions for plastic components and in-mould decoration.

CXX series inks maintain the ease of use of existing Sun Chemical automotive fascia inks by combing properties such as excellent screen stability, rapid drying, high levels of adhesion, scuff resistance and superior printability with the increased forming qualities.

Robin McMillan, European Marketing Manager Industrial Inks at Sun Chemical comments: "Developing next generation inks such as the CXX range, demands an even greater understanding for end-use and aesthetic attributes. Sun prides itself on staying ahead of the curve when it comes to industry trends. With the CXX range it did just that; listening to our customers and being first to develop the best quality ink solution."

Felipe Mellado, Chief Marketing Officer, Sun Chemical, adds: "We continue to be excited by the opportunities created by technology and innovation in new materials, and the unique challenges this presents to the printing sector. Sun Chemical's commitment to innovation helps us to stay on top of industry trends and deliver the very best solutions to market."

Currently, available in dense blacks, opaque whites and bespoke colours made to order.
