FMC Technologies and the Rompetrol Group Complete Automated Diesel Blending System


Houston, TX, October 09, 2006 - FMC Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: FTI) announced today the completion and installation of a new Automated Diesel In-Line Blending System for The Rompetrol Group's (TRG) flagship Petromidia Refinery in Constanta, Romania. An inauguration ceremony will be held at the refinery on October 10, 2006.

FMC Technologies scope of supply includes state-of-the-art blending technology that will enable more efficient production of diesel fuels to meet European Union standards while lowering production costs. This Automated Diesel In-Line Blending System, along with FMC Technologies' Automated Gasoline In-Line Blending System that began production in July of 2003, provides The Rompetrol Group with the most technologically advanced fuel blending systems in Romania. S.C. Rominserv S.A., a subsidiary of TRG, served as the industrial and general contractor on the project.

As Romania's most modern oil refinery, the 96,000 barrels-per-day Petromidia Refinery is located on the Black Sea Coast, several miles north of Constanta. Netherlands-based TRG is the second largest oil company operating in Romania.
