Fluoropolymers Enable Critical Components of Chemical Processing Plants Withstand the Harshest Conditions

AGC to feature fluorochemical solutions at 2015 Chem Show Booth #327

EXTON, Pa. – Fluoropolymer resins, compounds and fluoroelastomers from AGC Chemicals Americas Inc. are ideal for protecting components and equipment used to keep chemical processing plants running efficiently.

AFLAS®  Fluoroelastomers

Alternating copolymers of tetrafluoroethylene and propylene, AFLAS imparts unique properties over conventional FKM-type fluoroelastomers. AFLAS Fluoroelastomers help components resist chemical attacks and are heat and steam resistant up to service temperatures of 200 C. They are ideal in applications such as rotary shaft seals; compression packing; ANSI gaskets; flexible diaphragm seals; gaskets and O-rings.

Fluon® ETFE, PFA and PTFE Resins

These versatile fluoropolymer resins maintain stable properties at extreme temperatures, have low smoke and flame characteristics and provide outstanding physical toughness and resistance to weather and aging. Applications include valve, pump vessel and pipe linings; butterfly disc and seat liners; compression packing; stem packing seals; ball valve seats; ANSI and spiral wound gaskets; flexible diaphragm seals; linings and spray coatings; dip pipes and spargers; sheet, rod and plate; general gaskets and O-rings; expansion joints; heat exchangers; shell tube; distillation column trays and column packing.

Fluon® Filled PTFE Compounds and Melt Processable Compounds

Composed of pigments and fillers such as glass, carbon, graphite and metal powders, Fluon Filled PTFE Compounds are molding powders that enhance wear resistance, creep resistance, thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity over virgin PTFE resins. Fluon Melt Processable Compounds are based on copolymer resins FEP, ETFE, ECA, PFA, PVDF, MFA and ECTFE. There are eight Fluon melt processable compound product types, all manufactured to precise specifications. These fluorocompounds are used in rider and piston rings; packing and oil wiper rings; mechanical and rotary shaft seals; stem packing seals; ball valve seats; ANSI gaskets; dip pipes and spargers; sheet, rod and plate; bearing isolators; general gaskets; heat exchangers, shell and tube; distillation column trays and column packing.

About Chem Show 2015

The Chem Show began in 1915 in New York City as a way to stimulate the domestic manufacturing of chemicals and dyes. Since then, it has grown into the main event for processing technology, welcoming thousands of professionals from all segments of the CPI as they seek ways to optimize their process operations. The show offers a unique forum for leading manufacturers and suppliers to demonstrate their latest equipment, systems and products. The biennial Chem Show draws over 300 exhibitors and more than 4,000 attendees, coming from all fifty states and several countries. The 2015 Chem Show will be held November 17-19 at the Javits Center in New York City. www.chemshow.com
