Larson Electronics' Stainless Steel Hazardous Location Light Fixtures Debut on the Big Screen

Larson Electronics continues to experience significant expansion into the film entertainment industry with their latest debut in the new film “Deepwater Horizon”, set to be released in September 2016.

Starring Mark Wahlberg, Kurt Russell, and Kate Hudson, Lionsgate’s latest production tells the story of events that led up to the 2010 BP oil spill, killing 11 people and injuring 17 others. While building a pair of massive structures that will be portrayed as the Deepwater Horizon Rig, the set crew have chosen Larson’s explosion proof and stainless steel light fixtures to complete the appearance.

The stainless steel hazardous location fluorescent light fixture from Larson Electronics is designed for use in wet areas and salt-water marine environments where corrosion resistance is critical to equipment longevity and safety. This fixture is constructed of non-corrosive materials including a stainless steel housing, a poured in gasket for reliable sealing and an impact resistant acrylic diffuser. Corrosion resistant stainless steel latches secure the lamp cover to the housing and provides a firm lock against the poured in seal to prevent drips and water intrusion. Larson’s explosion proof fluorescent light fixture is Class 1 Division 1 approved for hazardous locations where flammable chemical and petrochemical vapors exist or have the potential to exist. This fixture carries a T6 temperature rating and comes standard with two fluorescent lamps. The lamps are protected by heat and impact resistant Pyrex tubes and the fixture is constructed of copper free aluminum alloy. The lamp reflectors are corrosion resistant heavy gauge aluminum and coated with a high gloss reflective finish. This fixture provides operators in hazardous locations with a reliable and affordable lighting solution that provides the best explosion proof protection available without sacrificing light quality or durability.
