Crescent/Stonco Introduces the T-Bay Fluorescent Fixture

-Designed to Replace Conventional HID Lighting in Industrial Applications-

UNION, NJ-February 21, 2003 - Crescent/Stonco, a division of Genlyte Thomas Group, LLC and a leading manufacturer of lighting products for both the industrial and commercial markets, introduced its Stonco T-Bay fluorescent fixture. The new fixture, which contains the mounting flexibility of high bays, includes T5 or T8 linear fluorescent lamps and is designed to replace conventional HID lighting in industrial applications.

The T-Bay accepts multiple suspension methods including ¾" threaded pipe for direct replacement of existing high bay fixtures and its ends and reflector panels are hinged for easy mounting, wiring and quick access to the ballast chamber. In addition, the T-Bay includes a 20-gauge die-form housing and features instant on, built-in switching, and low-temperature operation.

"The T-Bay was designed to be contractor friendly by including features that make it easier to install and maintain," said Phil Henry, director of marketing and product development, Crescent/Stonco. "Because of Crescent/Stonco's manufacturing capabilities in both high bay and fluorescent products, the result is a lighting fixture that outperforms all others in terms of operation, quality and energy efficiency."

Additionally, a four-light 54-watt HO T5 T-Bay requires 239 watts as compared to the metal halide, which consumes 454 watts, equaling a 50 percent savings in energy use. Furthermore, standard 400-watt metal halide fixtures rated for 36,000 initial lumens lose up to 45 percent of their lighting ability through depreciation and fixture inefficiencies. When compared to a 6 percent loss of the fluorescent T-Bay rated for 20,000 initial lumens, the maintained lumen output is virtually the same.

The fluorescent T-Bay is available in a four-light T5 54 watt fixture and a six-Light T8 32 watt fixture through Crescent/Stonco distributors.
