Fluon® Melt Processable Compounds Enhance High-Performance Parts and Components

Customized compounding yields superior performance characteristics over standard fluoropolymer resins

EXTON, Pa. – Because custom melt processable fluoropolymer compounds have become important materials for parts and components used in automotive, industrial, aerospace, transit and appliance applications, AGC FluoroCompounds Group offers Fluon® Melt Processable Compounds.

Fluon Melt Processable Compounds are based on copolymer resins FEP, ETFE, PFA, PVDF, MFA or ECTFE, which already exhibit the high-performance characteristics of fluoropolymers and impart physical toughness and high resistance to heat and chemicals. Compounding with fillers, pigments and other additives enhances the functionality and characteristics of these resins to make them better suited for challenging applications including wire and cable; semiconductor and electronic components; valves, fittings and pump housings; tubing and pipe; and specialty films.

AGC FluoroCompounds Group offers eight different types of melt processable compounds: color concentrates; foam concentrates; cross-linkable compounds; conductive/anti-static compounds; reinforced compounds; lubricated compounds; flexible AR compounds; adhesive-grade compounds. Products are RoHS and REACH compliant and free of cadmium, hexavalent chromium and lead.

Through its advanced technology center with specialized resources and equipment for product development, AGC FluoroCompounds Group provides customers around the world all levels of service, testing and support. "The group specializes in customization to support critical application requirements," said Gary Eckrote, business director of AGC FluoroCompounds Group. "Our efficient processes and procedures allow for shorter production lead times, system-controlled specifications and product consistency."

AGC FluoroCompounds Group focuses solely on the development, production and marketing of fluoropolymer compounds. Visit www.fluorocompounds.com for information about Fluon products, compounding capabilities, testing and customer support services.
