Flowserve Enhances Flowstar.net Software Tool Electronic Database Program Adds Hydraulic Decoking Enhancements

Dallas, Texas, USA-July 10, 2007-Flowserve Corp., a global provider of fluid motion and control products and services, has added hydraulic decoking enhancements to its Flowstar.net electronic database program. Flowstar.net is an industry-leading technology application, helping reduce maintenance and inventory costs while proactively managing reliability and maintaining operational up-time for rotating equipment.

At almost 400 customer sites worldwide, Flowstar.net tracks rotating equipment such as pumps, mixers, compressors, and mechanical seals as well as their corresponding process data, failure history and any outstanding recommendations for improvement. Utilizing this information, which can be globally accessed and maintained, meaningful reports are generated to provide insight into cost trending and savings, bad actors, premature failure, and detailed mean-time-between-failure trends.

The latest Flowstar.net improvements for hydraulic decoking capture information related to the system components of decoking units. This includes information on cutting tools, drill stems, rotary joints and jet pumps.

Detailed information about installed components helps Flowserve engineers identify and recommend system improvements, track reliability, and provide easy access to application information and reference lists. The new module also serves as the repository for detailed unit surveys and walkthrough reports, while linking key information such as serial numbers and drawing references to drawings and bills of materials.

"Flowstar.net has been an asset for Flowserve and our customers for some time," explains Mark Fallek, vice president of marketing, Flow Solutions division. "In addition to these latest enhancements for hydraulic decoking, we are seeing more and more valuable applications of Flowstar.net for our customers worldwide."
