Flow Transmitters feature optional temperature output.

Press Release Summary:

Suited for measuring flow in most clean liquids and many liquids with entrained solids, CSLFC and CSLFB Ultrasonic Flow Transmitters are available with 3-wire RTD temperature output. RTD is built into transducer well, offering process temperature measurement and flow measurement in one instrument. Made of cast brass, CSLFB models are designed for full scale flow ranges from 15-400 gpm in ¾-3 in. pipe, while CSLFC units measure flows to 4,000 gpm in 4-10 in. pipe.

Clark Ultrasonic Flow Transmitters Feature Optional Temperature Output

Clark Solutions CSLFC and CSLFB Ultrasonic Flow Transmitters are ideal for measuring flow in most clean liquids and many liquids with entrained solids. Now available with Optional Three-Wire RTD Temperature Output, these instruments are particularly suited to monitoring flow rates of chilled or heated water for control or as part of a green technology program as well as in municipal, process, and industrial systems. All Clark Ultrasonic Flow Transmitters free users from having to calibrate the transmitter to fluid temperature, viscosity, or density making them very easy to deploy and very reliable.

Hudson, MA - Clark Solutions-announces the availability of a Three-Wire RTD Temperature Output on both CSLFB and CSLFC Ultrasonic Flow Transmitters. The RTD is built in to one of the flow transmitters transducer wells offering the convenience of accurate process temperature measurement and flow measurement in one instrument. These transmitters are ideal for measuring flow rates and temperature of acoustically conductive liquids, including most clean liquids and many liquids with entrained solids. Model CSLFB Ultrasonic Flow Transmitters are designed for full-scale flow ranges from 15 to 400 GPM in ¾" to 3" pipe. They are a rugged cast brass design and have an accuracy of ±0.75% F.S. CSLFC Ultrasonic Flow Transmitters are designed for flows to 4000 GPM in 4" to 10" pipe, feature no moving parts, excellent long-term stability, no pressure drop, broad fluid compatibility, and high accuracy (± 0.75% of full scale) at a lower cost than similar instruments. Wetted materials include ULTEM® encapsulated ultrasonic transducers with a choice of EPDM, Buna-N, Neoprene(TM), FKM, or other seals and epoxy coated, Schedule 40 carbon steel pipe body material.

Available for purchase online at www.clarksol.com/html/cslfb.cfm , these transmitters are offered at approximately half the cost of similar instruments. Model CSLFB transmitters are available starting at $577, FOB Hudson MA. Model CSLFC transmitters start at $1584, FOB Hudson MA.

At the heart of Clark Ultrasonic Flow Transmitters is a proprietary mixed signal ASIC, (Application Specific IC,) which allows sophisticated timing, control and transducer drive circuitry to be combined on a single integrated circuit. The ASIC uses a special algorithm that is an improvement upon the standard single-path measurement technique. Clark ultrasonic transmitters utilize the "sing around" method, where the ultrasonic transducer alternates between transmitting and receiving to measure differences in flight time between upstream and downstream transmissions. The flight time of the sound pulse from the transmitting transducer to the receiving transducer will be shortened if the pulse is launched in the direction of flow, and increased if launched opposite to the direction of flow. By alternating the transmitting and receiving transducers, the difference in these transit times can be used to calculate the velocity of the flow, which when multiplied by the area of the pipe results in a measure of volumetric flow rate. The primary advantage of the Sing Around method is that the velocity of the fluid is being measured independent of the relative speed of sound in that given fluid. The output of Clark transmitters is also unaffected by changes in fluid temperature, density and viscosity.
