New Design Delivers Significant Performance Improvements for GEMS FS-4 Flow Switch
PLAINVILLE, CT. - Gems Sensors has announced the redesign of the best-selling FS-4 Series of flow switches. The design changes make FS-4 flow switches more physically robust, ensure better set point consistency and improve environmental moisture resistance.
Molded from high-performance Ryton(R) R4 plastic, new FS-4 switches now have more robust inlet/outlet port hubs. A more uniform wall thickness around the internal port threads enables the FS-4 to better withstand rough installation techniques and other abuses. To improve set point accuracy and reduce drift in severe service, Gems has utilized a separate snap-on reed switch subassembly for the new FS-4 Series. The subassembly is further sealed with a molded rubber grommet moisture barrier. These design changes provide the new FS-4 Series with better structural integrity for more reliable performance.
The FS-4 Series includes both SPDT and SPST models, and is suitable for applications with pressures to 250 PSI@70°F and with operating temperatures ranging from 0°F to 225°F, Inlet/Outlet ports incorporate 9/16"-18 UNF-2B threads, and Gems offers a selection of port adapters, including 1/8" NPT, 1/4" NPT and 1/2" barbed sizes.
