Flow Monitor detects contamination in fluid process.

Press Release Summary:

Self-contained Imaging Flow Monitor(TM) detects and measures objects as small as a few microns or as large as several millimeters in static or moving fluid streams, without testing samples. It provides live data, micrographic snapshots, trend information, and statistical reports. Data output port can directly feed process control system to provide closed loop control. Process operators receive warning when particle concentrations or sizes increase to unacceptable levels.

NEW IMAGING FLOW MONITOR PROVIDES YIELD IMPROVEMENT AND COST REDUCTION

NEWARK, DE - July 15, 2003 - Contamination can be a problem in almost any fluid process, and a costly one if not detected or monitored properly. That's why XCS Corporation and Imaging Flow Systems, LLC have developed a new source of quality information for the fluid process -- the Imaging Flow Monitor(TM) (IFM).

IFM provides a unique, state-of-the-art means of detecting and measuring particles within fluid flows without testing samples. It can be applied to water, polymers, resins, clear molten solids, food products, extracts, bio-chemicals, petroleum products, and most transparent chemicals or mixtures.

Objects as small as a few microns, or as large as several millimeters can be detected in static or moving fluid streams. Clear objects such as bubbles and gels, and opaque objects such as sand, carbon, dirt and metal shavings can be measured and counted non-invasively in the process stream.

When installed on a clear fluid transfer line, IFM optically detects clear objects or opacities, analyzes their size, counts their occurrence, and reports the data graphically. Process operators will receive a warning when particle concentrations or sizes increase to unacceptable levels. IFM can present live data, micrographic snapshots, trend information, and statistical reports.

The IFM data output port can directly feed a process control system to provide closed loop control. Multiple sensors can be supported by a single instrument. Use this feature to gain new control over your process by placing sensors at key process points.
