Positive Displacement Flow Meters and Batch Controllers Deliver Accurate Flow Measurement of High Viscosity Liquids
(Racine, WI-July 28, 2004)- Hedland Flow Meters offers the HPD Series of positive displacement flow meters and batch controllers, ideal for high viscosity, non-abrasive fluid applications including oils, greases, polyurethanes, solvents, chemicals, additives, lubricants, and fuels. Due to the multifaceted electronic interface technology, these HPD Series flow measurement systems provide seamless integration into any central process control system such as a PLC, CPU or PC data acquisition card.
The HPD flow meters maintain a consistent accuracy within ±0.5% at low flow rates, despite changing viscosity conditions. These rugged meters utilize stainless steel gears and bearings and are offered in bodies constructed of 303 or 316 stainless steel or high strength aluminum. Available in ¼", ½" and 1¼" NPT port sizes for flow ranges from a low .003 to 120 gallons per minute, these meters can operate at pressures up to 5,000 PSI and temperatures up to 400 ºF.
Hedland HPD flow meters are simple to use and easy to install, requiring no costly upstream or downstream straight run piping. The meters have been designed with minimal moving parts to provide a cost effective, low maintenance solution with a long service life.
To complete this flow measurement system, Hedland offers two HPD Series batch controllers, HPD-BAC and LLC-E-BA. Both of these controllers provide nine programmable batch amounts, batch counter and totalizer, batch error compensator, dual relays for solenoid valve control, and a 4-20 mA batch fill indicator. The LCD on both units features 16 character alphanumeric by 0.35 inch character height.
The HPD-BAC is offered in a plastic, dust-proof, panel mount version with a LEXAN front panel, while the LLC-E-BAC version is mounted in a prewired NEMA 12 industrial enclosure and offers easily accessible operator switching options.
