Flow International Features Mach 4 with Dynamic XD at FABTECH

KENT, Wash. -Flow International Corporation will conduct live demonstrations of the Mach 4 system with Dynamic Waterjet® XD at FABTECH held in Atlanta, GA, at the Georgia World Congress Center, November 2-4, 2010 in Booth 2333. The Mach 4 is the flagship of the Mach series and the industry's most advanced waterjet technology. The Mach 4 series combines Flow's HyperJet® pump, rated at 94,000 psi, and Dynamic Waterjet XD, high-precision flat stock and 3D cutting technology.

Flow's HyperJet pump, rated at 94,000 psi, delivers continuous operating pressure at an incredible 87,000 psi. Just as increased wattage allows lasers to increase cut speed, waterjets equipped with HyperPressure systems cut as much as 50% faster or more than conventional waterjets. Parts are cut faster, with a lower cost per part, and production runs are shorter.

As the leader in waterjet technology, Flow invented abrasive waterjet cutting in 1979. Recognizing the inherent errors caused by a non-rigid (waterjet) cutting tool, Flow invented Dynamic Waterjet in 2001 to eliminate stream lag and taper errors, bringing unparalleled accuracy and speed to 2D cutting. By incorporating SmartStream(TM) technology, mathematical models that predict jet behavior and compensate for taper and stream lag, cut speed is increased 2 to 4 times faster than conventional abrasive waterjets while producing parts with far higher precision. Now Flow brings that technology to 3D parts with the patented Dynamic Waterjet XD, enabling manufacturers to accurately cut a wide variety of intricate designs, usually eliminating any secondary processing.

The Mach 2 will also be on display. The Mach 2 series combines traditional waterjet capabilities, reliability, and exceptional value. It features FlowMaster®, software specifically designed to optimize waterjet cutting.

FlowTeach(TM), a system designed to quickly digitize patterns, templates or parts into FlowMaster software will also be demonstrated. The software and hardware are available for all Flow Mach series waterjets and can be retrofitted onto most legacy Flow systems.
