Floor Prep Leader Drops SAP, Reinstalls Syspro Software

Novatek Finds 'Bigger Not Better' ERP Solution Provider Fails Mid-Market Manufacturing

COSTA MESA, Calif. - August 19, 2008 -- SYSPRO, a provider of visionary ERP for the manufacturing pragmatist, announced today that former client Novatek Corporation, a flooring/surface preparation leader among mid-market manufacturers, is re-installing its SYSPRO software solution after a failed attempt with SAP Business One/Fourth Shift Edition software.

The Exton, Penn., based Novatek had been a SYSPRO customer for more than eight years, but opted to go with tier one market leader SAP, believing the company's new mid-market solutions would be the key to enhanced company insight and customer service. According to SYSPRO reseller NTE Services, Novatek decided to go with SAP believing that SAP's "largeness" represented superior technology and also mistakenly believed that the nearby SAP USA headquarters would translate to great customer support.

"Novatek discovered in just five months that its business was being negatively impacted by the lack of required functionalities in the SAP product set," said Jack Bonner, NTE sales manager. "Additionally, the company felt it would be cost prohibitive to install the additional SAP functionality required in such areas as manufacturing, sales and accounting. These functionalities are available 'out-of-the-box" with SYSPRO."

SYSPRO, in fact, delivers a wide range of out-of the box feature/functions needed by mid-market manufacturing and distribution companies, after more than 20 years and 14,000 global customers operating in that market segment.

For example, Novatek, like mid-market companies, requires accurate costing procedures and high levels of customer service to be competitive in the market place. A Novatek requirement for negative back flushing to obtain basic costing data, not available in the SAP solution, is standard in the SYSPRO Inventory solution.

"SYSPRO sets the benchmark high for the technology solutions that we deliver to the small and mid-market," said Joey Benadretti, president, SYSPRO USA. "The tier one market leaders are struggling to understand the vast difference in requirements for smaller businesses. Conversely, we know what the market needs and have built these desired functionalities into the SYSPRO product. We will continue to help manufacturing and distribution companies to realize their full potential by giving them an extra advantage that they can't get from other software providers, even those serving the largest companies."

SYSPRO's more thoughtful approach to adopting new technology, such as web services and SOA platforms, also reflects the desires of its buyers who are driven by business needs and not by the latest headlines. This exemplifies SYSPRO's ongoing strategy of helping to simplify the success of its customers. SYSPRO calls its buyer landscape "PragmaVision,(TM)" consisting of pragmatic, visionary ERP executives that are driven by a desirefor smart, but aggressive market growth.
