Powerful, Efficient O-Z/Gedney Industrial Floodlights Certified for Zone 2 Hazardous Locations

ROSEMONT, IL, June 7, 2004 - O-Z/Gedney, a member of the EGS Electrical Groups, has added the powerful Zone 2 FH Series of Industrial Floodlights to its family of hazardous location lighting solutions.

Certified for use in areas where flammable gases and vapors are present under conditions defined as Class I, Zone 2 Aex nR and the method of protection is restricted breathing. New Zone 2 FH Series floodlights are ideal lighting sources for hazardous applications such as paint manufacturing factories, ammunition facilities, oil and gas refineries, and pipeline pumping stations where they provide bright illumination to create a safer, more productive worksite.

Zone 2 FH Series Floodlights are available in a variety of wattages and mounting styles to meet demanding industrial lighting needs. Customers have the choice of high-pressure sodium (70-400 watt), mercury vapor (175-400 watt), metal halide (175-400 watt), or pulse start metal halide (200-400 watt) lighting sources. Mounting options are crossarm (180 degree adjustment), wall or clamp, and pole top mounting.

A hinged lens frame and front opening arrangement permit easier relamping or ballast access, while the precision formed Alzak® finished reflector delivers optimum photometric and lighting performance. The industrial-grade lens is resistant to extreme thermal shock and impact. Still another important feature is the porcelain lamp grip socket with a nickel plated, spring-loaded center contact that effectively eliminates lamp loosening, even in industrial areas subject to heavy vibration.

Ballasts are rated for either 120, 208, 240, 277 (MT) or 480 Volts.

The floodlights comply with Class 1, Zone 2 AEx nr IIA, IIB, IIC hazardous locations.
