Product Description: Design-FLV-42 luminaires are characterized by a boldly stepped, rectangular housing design with broad, flat-glass framed lens. The narrow trim frame around the lens mimics the stepped design of the housing, providing an integral design detail, while it protects the glass but ensures a wide, unobstructed light distribution pattern. All edges of the unit are subtly rounded for a smooth, architectural appearance that discourages accumulation of dust and debris. Lamp ballasts are rated for temperatures to -20° Fahrenheit, for reliable operation in virtually any outdoor environment.
Design-FLV-42 has a multi-surface, segmented aluminum reflector, which accommodates a range of single or double-ended high-pressure sodium, metal halide or metal halide pulse start lamps in different wattages and beam spreads. The reflector and shape of the lens ensure maximum light is emitted. A glare shield, straight louvers and choice of color filters are available options to customize the light output. The Design-FLV-42 lamphead moves smoothly through a range of lockable angles for precise aiming without wasted light spillover or "scatter glare." Fixtures are supplied with an above-ground adjustable Y-yoke mounting bracket standard, but may also be specified with wall bracket mounting or a slip fitter for pole mounting.
Construction & Finishes: Design-FLV-42 housings are constructed of a die-cast aluminum alloy with a chip- and fade-resistant baked polyester powder-coat finish. The thermal- and shock-resistant glass lens is sealed to the housing with an extruded silicone gasket, and secured with a tamper-resistant lock. All exposed hardware is stainless steel. Prior to application of the electrostatically applied finish, all Design-FLV-42 components endure a five-step pretreatment process, including an iron phosphate priming stage, for superior coating adhesion and maximum corrosion resistance throughout the life of the fixture. Design-FLV-42 is UL and CUL listed for use in wet-location use. It meets or exceeds all ASTM requirements, including those for 1,000-hour salt-spray endurance testing.
