FLIR Systems Thermal Imager Used in Forward Vision's New MIC1-412 Cameras

Vancouver, Canada - October 30, 2007 - Extreme CCTV Inc. (TSX:EXC) - through its British subsidiary Forward Vision CCTV, the UK's leading pan-tiltzoom (PTZ) camera manufacturer - has partnered with thermal imaging specialist FLIR Systems in the manufacture of Forward Vision's new "Metal Mickey" MIC1-412 multi-sensor dual spectra PTZ camera (branded as "Moondance" cameras in North America). The FLIR core will complement a day-night optical zoom module, delivering both thermal imaging and daynight color imaging.

Peter Dobson, one of the founding engineers at Forward Vision, said, "We chose to partner with FLIR as they share our dedication to high quality standards and, like us, control that quality by manufacturing the majority of their camera components in-house. Thermal technology fits into Forward Vision's expanding portfolio of solutions that provide Detection, Classification, Recognition and Identification-level imaging for comprehensive surveillance capability. "The MIC1 series already has the most versatile pan-tilt operation of any speed dome and our partnership with FLIR gives Forward Vision clients a high performance dual spectra solution, developed specifically for professional security applications."

The MIC1-412 is a dual spectra unit, featuring an 18x or 36x day/night zoom module and a 50mm thermal camera positioned side-by-side in the camera head. This allows the user to switch instantly between optical and thermal view at the press of a single button on the control keyboard. "MIC1's versatility, coupled with FLIR's thermal imaging expertise, truly provides an innovative solution that is the best of both worlds," continued Dobson. The companies have already cemented their working partnership with the first sale of the Mic1-412, installed at an exclusive property near London, England.

FLIR's thermal camera element 'sees' heat sources that optical cameras cannot, while Forward Vision's day-night zoom module and precision engineered resolver mechanics enables high resolution pan-tilt-zoom imaging to deliver identifying details. The dual spectra combination provides the on-site security team with extra intelligence to intercept and prevent an incident. "Dual spectra solutions are highly effective in detecting possible intruders and providing visual verification, discretely and at any time of the day or night," says FLIR Systems' business development manager, Alex Thornton-Margetts. "And in Forward Vision we have a partner that can really see the potential of this great combination."
