Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. Announces Development in Cutting-Edge Wearable Musical Sensor Gloves

DRAPER, Utah -- Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (FLXT) today announced product development of ground-breaking and award-winning wearable musical sensor gloves with UK-based mi.mu.

The mi.mu team, award winners at the recent Microsoft Wearable IT Fashion Tech Awards in Berlin, comprises musicians, artists, scientists and technologists. Their wearable glove allows for an interactive and flexible approach to the control and composition of music and visuals. Integrating Bend Sensor®, and other technology, the glove captures movement in the hands and allows the user to control sounds with their gestures. Information from the precise movement recognition in the glove can simultaneously be sent to music software.

Imogen Heap, Grammy winner and a founding Director of mi.mu, has demonstrated the glove at TED Global, Wired and other international technology conferences. Musicians and performers around the globe have embraced the mi.mu gloves to add to their performance experience. Dr. Kelly Snook, co-Director and another founding member of mi.mu, who has been touring with pop singer Ariana Grande during most of 2015 says, "Flexpoint's sensors have proven to be accurate, robust and reliable in the uniquely demanding arena tour environment for over 80 shows."

"We have been able to incorporate our sensors across multiple industries including industrial, medical, rehabilitative, among others, and now we have been adapted and integrated into this exciting technology wearable in the music and arts space." According to Paul Sexauer, Vice President Sales & Marketing for Flexpoint, "Our innovative sensor technology, and not just sensors but the whole sensor system development experience we offer customers sets us apart from competitors. We are more than thrilled to be continuing to expand our customer base globally and across so many technological arenas."

Morgan Stanley analysts have described wearable technology as a potential $1.6 trillion industry. Flexpoint has successfully positioned itself nicely in this burgeoning industry using Bend Sensors® in several types of wearable technology systems. Recently, the company launched the Mettis Trainer® wearable shoe inserts that provide real time data feedback to athletes. It is a portable, wireless weight-shift measurement system detecting pressure, movement, balance and other performance metrics. The information can be viewed on the user's mobile device in the Mettis Trainer® app.

Mi.mu is currently able to take pre-orders of the gloves as they ready themselves for the beginning stages of mass commercialization.
