Micronic North America Announces New Flexible PCB Drill/Rout System
Micronic North America, the North American distributor of the Micronic 8 Series PCB drilling and routing machines, announces the release of a new flexible PCB drill/rout system. This two spindle Micronic 82flex can be configured with two drill spindles, two rout spindles or one drill spindle and one rout spindle. Designed with small-to-medium production lot sizes as well as prototyping in mind, this high-precision and high-accuracy machine provides a more cost effective solution to drilling and routing needs. The Micronic 82flex can be configured with 125,000 rpm high collet torque drill/route spindles, 180,000 rpm full-range drill spindles, 200,000 high-productivity full range drill spindles or 250,000 rpm drill spindles optimized for smaller holes.
When configured with 250,000 rpm spindles the Micronic 82flex is capable of drilling holes down to .0003" diameter. The motion system uses maintenance-free linear motors in all three axes. Axis positioning accuracy is better than .0002" and the Z-axis is capable of remarkably high rates of acceleration, up to 4G, enabling hit rates of up to 550 strokes per minute. With precise depth control accuracy of ±.0006" the Micronic 82flex offers a realistic and cost effective alternative to most laser drilling.
