Original Press Release:

Ultra-Durable CastingScope from Lenox Provide Reliable Inspection of Metal Castings

Trevose, PA, December 2005 Lenox Instrument Company has developed the most durable flexible borescope on the market the CastingScope designed to inspect metal castings and other rugged, hard-to-access areas. The CastingScopes unique feature is its renewable front probe; after thousands of inspections, the worn insertion probe can be easily and economically replaced with a new one.

These flexible instruments are capable of viewing the inner workings of complex castings such as cylinder heads and engine blocks. Images are then displayed on a color monitor for operator comfort. The units have dramatically reduced the cost of this essential inspection. The CastingScope is available with probe diameters of 3.5 mm (.138 inches) and 6 mm (.236 inches); probe length is 200mm (7.9 inches) or longer.

Fiber optics are used for illumination. The high resolution color (480 lines) CCTV camera is directly coupled to the instrument, improving the rigidity of the handle assembly. Inspections in excess of a million are possible without the need for factory service.

Each Lenox CastingScope is furnished complete with a rugged case at no additional cost, and a variety of light sources are available. All scopes are waterproof, as well as and digital- and video-adaptable. Additionally, the CastingScope is backed by Lenox's industry-leading two-year warranty.
