Flexboard Now Offers Added Stability for Veneer Applications

The Kerfkore Company, a manufacturer of patented bendable substrates and panel products, now offers increased
face surface stability for use in veneer applications. Flat attachment of virtually any veneer by hot or cold pressing methods is simple with Flexboard.

Flexboard is a high quality alternative to bending plywood for radius fabrication. Eucalyptus wood fiber hardboard is used, which has no added formaldehyde and is very receptive to most types of glues. Machining and sanding can be done while flat, yet it is still flexible enough to bend to a 16" to 18" radius. This lamination process results in a very stable durable veneer panel that will not bubble or check with age. Flexboard gives the ability to provide curved panels that can be sequenced veneer matched with flat panels to produce the complete project. Making high quality curved veneer panels has never been easier.

Normal use of Flexboard provides 10-inch radius fabrication quickly and easily with no sanding, patching, multiple layers, special installation, or odor. It reduces cost, scrap, and weight and can be used for radius applications as vast as one's imagination, including attached and free form projects. Flexboard is so flexible it can be bent and attached to a ribbed frame easily with staples and nails.

Flexboard is manufactured on state-of-the-art equipment. It is available in nominal, 4'x 8' and 8'x 4' sizes with a particleboard, MDF, or plywood core and a .080 thick hardboard face. It is also available in a 10' length or width. The hardboard surface is ideal for painting or laminating paper, vinyl, veneer, HPL, and metal. It is calibrated for uniform thickness throughout the manufacturing process.
