ROMEOVILLE, Ill — FleetwoodGoldcoWyard, Inc. a leading supplier of advanced conveyance technology, robotic and process solutions will be exhibiting a Robotic Rainbow Pallet Building System at Pack Expo 2013, Sept. 23 to 25, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada. A team of professionals will be available in Barry-Wehmiller Booth #900 and KUKA Booth #5133 throughout the show to discuss all of the company's latest product offerings including our AMBEC AdaptA Series of Accumulation. FleetwoodGoldcoWyard, member of RIA (Robotic Industries Association), was awarded KUKA System Partner of the Year for 2012 and will be exhibiting their Robotic Rainbow Pallet System in KUKA Booth #5133.
The robot will select layers from two donor pallets of different product to create a mixed pallet using a mxAutomation™ controlled KUKA Robot with a pick-and-place layer handling tool. mxAutomation is a software package from KUKA Robotics that allows full control of robot motion via an external PLC that communicates with the KRC4 robot controller. The pick-and-place tool is a unique design provided by Joulin (Hickory, NC) which provides an efficient and cost-effective alternative to manual labor for customers needing to create mixed loads for custom orders or route trucks.
The demo will be programmed to operate in either a fully automatic repeating cycle or an interactive manual mode. When in the manual mode it will be accessible for a person to manually enter a requested layer sequence and watch as the robot proceeds to build the requested sequence. The system is capable of handling many types of products ranging from corrugated boxes to shrink-wrapped bundles. It can also be expanded to handle a large number of donor loads to create many types of mixed pallets.
