Think BIG: Summa's New Flatbed Cutter is 75% Bigger

One of the graphic industry’s most respected equipment manufacturers introduces its biggest-ever, flatbed cutting-and-finishing system.

Seattle, WA – Summa’s new flatbed cutting-and-finishing system (the model F2630) is not just big, it’s a whopping 75 percent larger than the state-of-the-art flatbed cutter the company introduced four years ago. It’s the largest cutter Summa has ever created.

With the launch of the affordably priced F2630, Summa solidifies its reputation as one of the world’s most respected and trusted manufacturers in the area of wide-format finishing.

Huge cutting area improves speed and accuracy

With a cutting area measuring 265 cm x 305 cm (more than eight square meters), the F2630 cutter will allow sign makers and other print professionals to process ever-larger media (boards, sheets or rolls) faster, more easily and more accurately. The wider working area also allows two media rolls to be placed side-by-side on the optional roll-support system for simultaneous processing.

Improved efficiency, thanks to 12 vacuum zones

A Summa first: The work surface for the F2630 has been split into 12 automatically controlled vacuum zones to firmly hold materials in place – without having to activate the entire workspace. Whatever size material is in use, the vacuum pump automatically resizes the suction area to match.

•Â Use all 12 zones to process full-size projects.

• Activate just part of the table for smaller jobs.

• Use the inactive areas of the table to load / unload materials while jobs are processing.

Our most popular cutting tools

The same cutting tools that proved so popular with Summa’s smaller flatbed cutter are also available on this new, F2630 model. These include the kiss-cutting tool, multiple V-cut tools, single-edge cutout tool, double-edged cutout tool, heavy-duty cutout tool, multiple creasing tools, plus more.

Up to three tools can be simultaneously inserted into a single module, and as many as three modules can be inserted into the multifunctional head.

Plus, each tool features a barcode ID that ensures automatic recognition. Combine that with the matching depth-and-tool settings, and you have incredible precision on every project.

Another hot seller for Summa

The first F2630 installations are slated to take place in the fall of 2015. Demand for the cutter is expected to be significant within the sign-making industry – a group that responded enthusiastically to Summa’s smaller flatbed cutter when it was introduced in 2011. The new F2630 model is also predicted to attract a following in the packaging, textile and leather markets.
