Burlingame, CA - Sept. 28, 2005 - Tangent, Inc., today announced VITA, a space saving and low power consumption ALL-IN-ONE LCD PC that integrates a flat panel 17-inch LCD touch screen display into a slim, attractive aluminum chassis that fits ergonomically into any health care practitioner's office or a hospital environment.

The Tangent VITA has been designed with many features to benefit the health care and therapy industries, which include a space saving design, rugged sanitary aluminum enclosure, low power consumption, cordless keyboard and mouse, built-in-speakers, WIFI LAN capabilities.

Data entry can be by stylus or by optional touch screen on the display. The display has a tilt range from -5 degrees to +25 degrees to provide viewing comfort and ergonomic flexibility.

"Touch screens are being widely adopted as the standard display in the health care industry because they are more convenient, interactive, and provide a more user-friendly access and communication between healthcare professionals and patients," said Mike Zabaneh, Tangent Vice President of Marketing. "Combined with rugged features and low power consumption, VITA packs a lot of power while taking up very little space to make it a perfect system for medical environments."

VITA consumes approximately 260W versus 450-500W for PC and CRT combos. The system has also earned a UL 60950-1 ITE (Information Technology Equipment) rating, which certifies it to reduce risks of fire, electric shock or injury for the operator (medical professionals) and layman (patients) who may come into contact with the equipment.

Suggested retail is $1,495, or $1,555 with WiFi 802.11b/g wireless LAN installed.

Base features on the Tangent VITA include an Intel® Pentium® 4 3.0GHz processor, 17-inch SXGA LCD TV, DVD/CDRW player, 7-in-1 Multi Flash card reader and integrated stereo speakers, 512K of DDR SDRAM (expandable to 2GB), 120 GB SATA hard drive, and wireless keyboard and mouse. Microsoft Windows XP Professional comes standard with all systems.

Tangent's new LCD PC accommodates next generation peripherals with two PCI 32-bit slots; two SATA/150 ports, one parallel ATA/100 port; and seven USB 2.0 port (four onboard and three on the chassis). Onboard peripherals include Gbit 10/100/1000 Ethernet, and 7.1 capable channel integrated audio.

Tangent backs the system with a one-year parts & labor warranty and one-year optional on-site service. It is available direct from Burlingame, CA-based Tangent at www.tangent.com.
