Original Press Release:

New Flat Panel Monitors Provide Brilliant, Vivid Displays and Extremely Wide Viewing Angles

New flat panel technology reduces power consumption, space requirements, and heat generation - are ideal for even severe, heavy-use office and light industrial environments.

York Haven, PA - Daisy Data Inc., industry leader in developing ruggedized computers, displays, and keyboards that survive harsh industrial and plant environments, has introduced its new Series 2430 Flat Panel Monitors. These attractive, functional monitors with their active matrix (TFT) displays feature brilliant, sharp, bright color and an extremely wide 170° viewing cone (up to 85° x 85° vertical and horizontal viewing angles) for optimal visibility. They are available with 15", 18", and 20" displays.

Their very shallow depth (3.5" for the 15" and 18" monitors; 4.0" for the 20" monitor) makes them ideal for applications where space is a concern. They are designed to be wall mounted, integrated into other equipment, or used as flexible stand-alone displays. Their flat panel technology reduces power consumption and heat generation, while providing a low profile design. Typical applications include light industrial environments, flight simulators, laboratories, data display and entry terminals, point of sale (POS) terminals - and in office environments where their rugged construction is an advantage when confronted with severe use. For example, models have been tested successfully in a pilot-program on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange, a severe environment for data displays.

Maximum resolution and dot pitch are:
15" display - 1024x768 and 0.297mm
18" display - 1280x1024 and 0.281mm
20" display - 1280x1024 and 0.312mm

The rugged, NEMA 1 enclosure is black-powder coated rolled steel. Although rugged in construction and durability, the monitors are quite attractive. The monitors feature On Screen Display (OSD) for control of contrast, color balance, and other adjustments. The monitors have removable rear access panels for ease of maintenance.

Available options include safety glass - with improved resistance to chemicals, vapors, and other materials - for plant floor and tougher environments; resistive touch screens, as well as NFI and capacitive touch screens.
