Streamlight Introduces Night Com(TM) Xenon/LED Light

Versatile Light Features Advanced Night Vision Protection

EAGLEVILLE, PA - February 10, 2006 - Streamlight®, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high performance flashlights for industrial applications, has introduced the Night Com(TM) Xenon/LED, featuring multiple lighting modes including state-of-the-art LED night vision protection. The flashlight is ideal for pilots, aircraft mechanics and other professionals who occasionally work under low-light conditions because it preserves and optimizes night vision.

The new light is the newest member of the company's Twin-Task series of flashlights, the only machined aluminum flashlights featuring a patented Xenon/LED combination for exceptional brightness and long run times.

"Like all of our Twin-Task lights, the new Night Com gives users tremendous flexibility in selecting the light source and intensity needed for the task at hand," said Streamlight President Brad Penney. "A special mode select dial allows users to choose from three lighting positions -- 2 Ultra-Bright red or safety green LEDs when the light will be used for an extended period of time, a Xenon bulb when high-intensity light is needed and 1 low-power red or safety green LED to provide optimum night vision protection - a special consideration for airline pilots and mechanics and other industrial professionals who must perform their jobs under low light conditions," said Penney.

The select switch also has a safe mode position to ensure the light is not switched on by mistake, and a glow-in the-dark marker which allows users to see what mode is selected, regardless of lighting conditions. In addition, Streamlight's new Dual Switch System provides an engineered, push-button tailcap switch for the light's Power On/Off as well as Signal settings.

The Night Com light features a 4.8 volt Xenon bulb, providing 72 lumens (typical) of incandescent light for a maximum of 2.5 hours. The 2 Ultra-Bright LEDs offer up to 8 lumens (typical) of LED light, while the Indicator Type LED is able to preserve complete dark adaptation per MIL-1472D. The LEDs feature a run time of up to 28 hours and last for 100,000 hours.

Powered by two 3-volt CR123A lithium batteries which have a shelf life of nearly ten years, the light weighs just 5.44 ounces, is 5.43 inches long and features an unbreakable polycarbonate lens. The flashlight casing, which includes an enhanced knurled grip, is constructed of aircraft-grade machined aluminum alloy and is coated with a Type II anodized finish for superior wear and abrasion and corrosion resistance. Standard O-rings protect the light from moisture damage. Available in matte black, the light comes equipped with a high-strength wrist lanyard.

The suggested retail value of the Night Com is $59.95. The light comes with Streamlight's "No Excuses" limited-lifetime warranty.
