Fujitsu Launches Low Pin-Count 8-Bit Flash MCU Family for Cost-Sensitive Applications

Delivers fast processing, low power consumption, integrated high-precision clocks and free-of-charge software development environment

Langen, Germany September 9th 2008 - Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe (FME) today announces the MB95200 low pin-count series, an extension of its 8-bit microcontroller family, F²MC-8FX.

The series of single-chip standard microcontrollers with 8-24 pins is powered by an optimised core, with low-leakage technology and embedded flash. Fast processing and low power consumption make the devices suitable for use in white goods such as washing machines, refrigerators, ovens and air conditioning units as well as for small household appliances and consumer products such as shavers, cordless phones and remote controls.

"Our MB95200 series is supported by detailed and easy-to-access material on our website. With the compact and low price on-chip-debugging tool and the free-of-charge C-language IDE - Softune, development is made easy," commented Wolf Fronauer, Marketing Manager Industrial at FME.

Key features:
Proven Fujitsu embedded flash with 100k erase cycles and 20 years' data retention
10-bit analogue-to-digital converter in every device
Precision on-chip oscillator, integrated clock supervisor and low voltage detect as options
Compact and low price on-chip-debug environment
Free software development environment in C language
Web support with datasheets, manuals, application notes, example software and C-library

The MB95200 series features derivatives in SOP8/DIP8, SOP16/DIP16 and SOP20/DIP24 packages and is available for shipping now. Future devices are currently under design and will add features such as E2PROM emulation.
