Flame-Resistant Control Cables with UL/CSA Approval

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. - February 12, 2008 - igus® Inc., the industry-leading developer of plastic cable carriers, bearings and continuous-flex cables, today announced its Chainflex® CF9 and CF10 control cables are now available with UL and CSA approval.

CF9 and CF10 control cables were developed for demanding dynamic applications featuring high speeds and challenging environments. They have been used successfully around the globe for the past 15 years.

The new UL- and CSA-approved versions have a bending radius of 5xd and a flame-resistant TPE outer sheath. The cables also remain highly flexible even when exposed to extreme temperatures ranging from -31 to +212 degrees Fahrenheit. They are resistant to oil and bio-oil, as well as UV radiation, and so are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.

These high-performance TPE cables are suitable for racking units, machining centers or tooling machines, high-speed handling, cleanroom environments, and ship-to-shore and outdoor cranes.

The Chainflex range is comprised of more than 800 cables designed for use within Energy Chain® cable carriers-from bus to control, fiber optic to pre-harnessed cables.
