World leader in material handling solutions will spotlight its latest innovations in automated replenishment, sortation technology, and software in a fully functioning equipment exhibit at ProMat 2007 in Chicago, Illinois
(St. Louis, Missouri, USA: December 27, 2006) FKI Logistex® (www.fkilogistex.com), a global leader in integrated material handling solutions, announces that it will display a fully functioning, two-level equipment loop and a sortation exhibit showcasing its material handling technologies at ProMat 2007 in Chicago, Illinois. The display features the company's new automated replenishment solution, next-generation LS-4000 cross-belt and tilt-tray sorters, and the UniSort® MXT(TM) software module, as well as a complete range of other FKI Logistex technologies.
The FKI Logistex integrated loop highlights the company's advanced labor-saving automated replenishment solution, which uses its rail-running mini-load automated storage and retrieval crane and advanced software intelligence to provide continuous, demand-based replenishment of pick faces. The fully operational mini-load crane moves totes from an 18.5-foot- (5.6-meter-) tall by 32-foot- (9.75-meter-) long racking system to automatically replenish both levels of the exhibit's picking locations, which feature the FKI Logistex Trak3(TM) pick-to-light, EASYpick® Voice, and EASYpick GoKart(TM) technologies.
FKI Logistex Launches Next-Generation Sortation Solutions
In addition to the integrated loop, the FKI Logistex display will feature a sortation exhibit, presenting its new LS-4000E tilt-tray and LS-4000CB cross-belt sorters. The LS-4000 series was developed with a modular, space-saving design to avoid costly square-footage expansion and greenfield construction. A state-of-the-art energy system that includes a linear synchronous motor (LSM) enables the LS-4000 sorters to lower energy consumption, while offering high speed and accuracy, quiet operation, and a low product life cycle cost (PLCC).
The sortation exhibit also features the new FKI Logistex UniSort MXT software module, a patent-pending sortation subsystem that dramatically increases sorter throughput. The UniSort MXT boosts existing material handling capacity, allowing facilities to quickly scale to absorb peak product demand on a daily or seasonal basis. The software's algorithms optimize merging, induction and sortation, enabling rates well in excess of 300 cartons per minute, the industry's peak throughput level attainable to date. The FKI Logistex sortation exhibit also showcases the industry-leading high-speed UniSort XV sliding shoe sorter and the UniSort Linear Belt Sorter (LBS).
Also on Display
The FKI Logistex ProMat integrated equipment loop features robotic palletizing and depalletizing, and Accuzone® 24-volt powered roller conveyor. The entire system is controlled by FKI Logistex software solutions, including BOSS(TM) PC-based conveyor controls and the Order Manager(TM) warehouse control system (WCS). RFID identification and control systems will also be displayed.
"The FKI Logistex equipment and software exhibited at ProMat 2007 is designed to optimize distribution center floor space while increasing throughput, decreasing energy consumption and noise levels, and improving the efficiency of product replenishment and order fulfillment," says Steve Ackerman, president, FKI Logistex North America. "Leading manufacturing and distribution centers around the world rely on FKI Logistex people, services, and products. That's why FKI Logistex is the clear choice in the material handling marketplace."
The 4,000-square-foot (372-square-meter) FKI Logistex ProMat display spans two contiguous booths - 1203 and 1503. Booth 1203 features the integrated automated replenishment, robotic palletizing and conveyor solutions, while booth 1503 showcases the latest innovations in sortation technology. ProMat 2007 takes place January 8-11 in Chicago at McCormick Place.
