A&B Software releases new versions of FireWire and GigE Vision camera SDKs
A&B Software (New London, Conn.) announced the official release of ActiveDcam 3.0 and ActiveGigE 5.0, the next generation of its highly acclaimed software development kits (SDK) for IIDC-1394 and GigE Vision cameras. The SDKs provide developers and end-users with immediate access to multiple GigE Vision and FireWire cameras through the simple drop of ActiveX objects on an application surface. The ActiveX-interface guarantees quick and easy integration into virtually any programming environment including C++, C#, VB6, VB.NET, Delphi, Java, Python and Matlab.
A key feature of the new releases is transparent support for both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows platforms, including Windows 7. Other important additions include multicast support, real-time frame averaging/integration, adaptive look-up tables, sequence capture, and high-depth (up to 16-bit) raw AVI recording. The new monitor synchronization mode uses A&B's patent-pending technology to provide smooth video rendering, free of tearing and stuttering anomalies.
ActiveDcam and ActiveGigE offer comprehensive property dialogs with full control over camera attributes, time-lapse AVI 2.0 recording with selectable compression, instant access to image buffers and pixels, real-time image processing, color overlays of graphics and text, image flipping and rotation, histogram and statistical calculations, and built-in background correction. Included TWAIN and DirectShow drivers provide a universal plug-and-play interface between FireWire/GigE Vision cameras and third-party imaging and video recording applications.
