Kronos Delivers Enhanced Biometrics Capabilities With Kronos 4500 Touch ID Terminal
CHELMSFORD, Mass., Feb 3, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Kronos(R) Incorporated (Nasdaq: KRON) today announced the availability of an enhanced version of the Kronos 4500 Touch ID(TM) terminal, a biometric fingerscan badge terminal. The Kronos 4500 Touch ID terminal provides a method for accurately verifying employee identification during the labor data collection process.

The first step in using biometric technology in labor management is enrolling employees in the system by capturing their biometric data. Unlike cumbersome and restrictive employee enrollment processes offered by other vendors, Kronos now offers two enrollment methods: at the terminal, which is popular on the shop floor; and centralized enrollment at a PC which is preferred by HR managers. Having both enrollment options as well as centralized configuration and management reduces the cost of ownership for large organizations with many geographically dispersed locations.
