Original Press Release:

J.R. Merritt FS1 Ultra-compact, Hall-effect, Finger-operated Joystick Controller

The compact, lightweight and robust design of J.R. Merritt's new FS1 finger-operated joystick controller makes it ideal for a variety of applications including in-cab control panels, portable radio control boxes and pendants. This single-axis, Hall-effect joystick features a 2.2" (55mm) actuator height and glass filled Zytel housing.

Moisture-resistant non-ferrous components and conformal-coated electronics provide exceptional durability and ruggedness for use in industrial vehicles, mobile machinery, on- and off-highway applications and for in-plant process control where dependability and long life are paramount. The non-contacting, Hall-effect sensors provide long life and reliable control in harsh environments. The extension-style spring return offers smooth and precise operations.

The FS1 is sealed to IP55 and meets or exceeds CE EMC requirements. An optional boot sealed to IP66 is available, making this device suitable for corrosive and hostile environments. Other options include a 2.6" actuator height, friction brake, step detent, 7-30V input, redundant output and low power consumption.
