Forrest Manufacturing Announces New Finger Joint

Interlocking Blades Cut Finger Joints, Rabbets and Grooves Without Scoring or Chipping

CLIFTON, New Jersey, June 21, 2007 - Forrest Manufacturing announced today the release of a new two-piece Finger Joint Set specifically designed for cutting finger joints, rabbets, and square bottom grooves without scoring or chipping.

"This set is for craftsmen who want a precision blade set for fine woodworking applications, and for professional shops that require a dedicated blade set," explains Jay Forrest, vice president, Forrest Manufacturing.

Precision Cutting for Fine Joinery and Grooves
The Finger Joint Set is excellent for creating finger, or box, joints to join two pieces of wood at right angles. Unlike dovetail joints, finger joints are square instead of angled, usually evenly spaced, and require glue to hold together. Whereas a conventional dado set can leave scoring marks on finger joints, the new Forrest blade set delivers clean cut rips with the grain of the wood.

The Finger Joint Set is also a good choice for cutting rabbets, or grooves along the edge of a piece of wood. Rabbets are used in doors and casement windows, in window frames, in furniture construction to accommodate panels, and in other woodworking applications.

Designed for Top Performance
The Finger Joint Set consists of two reversible, interlocking, eight-inch blades with 24 teeth each and a standard 5/8-inch bore. The blades can be reversed to make ¼- and 3/8-inch cuts.

Like all Forrest blades, the Finger Joint Set blades are made with
high-grade carbide tips and are hand straightened to ensure perfect flatness. Their exceptional perimeter concentricity produces a side runout of +/- .001 for precision cutting. Additionally, Forrest's proprietary grinding techniques enable a 50 to 300 percent longer life between sharpenings. When sharpening is required, state-of-the-art in-factory services are available at reasonable cost to provide continued performance.
