Fine Powder suits high stretch applications.

Press Release Summary:

POLYFLON(TM) F-107 high molecular weight homopolymer PTFE fine powder has same properties as PTFE, making it suited for both uniaxial and biaxial stretching. It provides dimensional stability, uniformity of color and translucency, and can be used to make extruded films and membranes such as tape wrap, dental floss, thread seal tape and dielectric film. Powder can also be used in filtration and textile applications.

Daikin America, Inc. Announces The Commercial Release Of F-107

Daikin America, Inc. is pleased to announce the commercial release of an important new addition to their PTFE fine powder product line, F-107.

New DAIKIN-POLYFLON(TM) F-107 is Daikin's highest molecular weight homopolymer PTFE fine powder, specifically designed for demanding high stretch applications. This material has all of the typically excellent properties of PTFE. F-107 is well suited to both uniaxial and biaxial stretching.

Extruded films have been uni-directionally stretched on commercial equipment and perform well in tape wrapping, dental floss, thread seal tape and dielectric film applications.

Extruded films have been biaxially stretched on commercial equipment yielding a uniformly porous membrane for high performance filtration and textile applications. Membranes made from F-107 have exhibited exceptional dimensional stability and uniformity of color and translucency.

Daikin America is manufacturing this material at their Decatur, Alabama facility.

Daikin America, Inc., headquartered in Orangeburg, New York is the second largest fluoropolymer supplier in the US. Daikin America is a wholly owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd. of Osaka, Japan. Daikin is Japan's leading manufacturer of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, and Japan's largest producer of fluorochemical products.
