Fin Tube Removal Tool Eliminates Chipping Hammers And Grinders
A new (patent pending) tool that removes up to 4" of fin from a tube O.D. in under two minutes and end preps the tube for welding, all in one-step, is being introduced by ESCO Tool of Medfield, Massachusetts.
The MILLHOG® Fin Tube Removal Tool is air-powered, clamps to the tube I.D., and features a proprietary blade design that separates the fin from a tube and then bevels the tube end, all in one-step. Eliminating the need for chipping hammers and grinders, this tool has no reaction torque to the user, is chatter-free, and can remove 4" of fin from a tube in under two minutes.
Easy to operate, the MILLHOG® Fin Tube Removal Tool cuts the bond between the fin and tube O.D. and can work in any position. The cutter blade is made from a high grade tool steel and can be resharpened, while a heavy-duty rack and pinion feed mechanism assures smooth operation for greater fin removal control. No cutting lubricants are required.
