Sonoco's Complete Release(TM) Fiber Tape Core Yields 100 Percent Usable Tape

Hartsville, S.C. - The Complete Release(TM) tape core developed by Sonoco eliminates wasted tape, increases capacity, reduces dust contamination and increases graphic and branding capabilities. Sonoco is the world's single largest provider of tape cores.

The Complete Release tape core is ideal for the single-use medical kits being used by many health care facilities. Its surface wrap helps tape stick securely to the core during winding and releases completely at the end of the roll without contaminating the tape. Today's typical medical kit contains 18-24 inch lengths of tape versus a standard 10-yard roll of tape.

"The typical amount of tape lost on a three-inch diameter fiber core is ten inches, and three inches are lost on a one-inch diameter fiber core. Sonoco's Complete Release tape core can provide some tape manufacturers with annual savings of up to one million square meters,." said Susan Bell, tape segment manager, Industrial Products, North America.

The Complete Release tape core helps tape manufacturers and converters increase production capacity by allowing them to wind more cores per shift using the same amount of tape. The core's surface wrap also eliminates up to 85 percent of the dust associated with a standard fiber core, reducing equipment cleaning downtime.

Each Complete Release tape core is custom designed to meet customer-specific performance. Cores may also be printed on both the interior and exterior of the core for increased brand awareness.
