DiCon Fiberoptics Unveils High Port Count MEMS 1x56 Optical Switch

Richmond, CA - DiCon Fiberoptics releases a new MEMS 1x56 fiber optic switch, ideal for applications such as FTTH monitoring. Housed in a compact module, this optical switch features reliable optical performance with internal components that are Telcordia GR-1221 qualified.

"Based on DiCon's proven, proprietary MEMS technology, the high port count of our 1x56 fiber optic switch is perfect for FTTH and other PON monitoring systems," said Robert Schleicher, the Vice President of Product Development. "It is also ideal for fiber sensing applications where data collection from many fibers is needed."

All MEMS components in the switch meet the stringent Telcordia GR-1221 standards, ensuring superb performance in the field even against adverse conditions. These optical switches also have excellent repeatability, fast switching time, and long lifetimes.

As a new addition to DiCon's product line, this fiber optic switch presents a compact option for 1xN optical switching for port sizes between 1x25 to 1x56 with single mode fiber. Other solutions of different optical port counts and fiber types are also available, including optical switches up to 1x128 for FTTH monitoring solutions.
