Fiber Optic Network Switch complies with RoHS Directive.

Press Release Summary:

Featuring MEMS-based mirror/prism technology, 16-channel QuickSwitch 6259R allows devices connected to COMMON port of each channel access to A or B port on each channel. All fiber ports are ST simplex, multimode, 62.5/125 micron, and support wavelength of 850 nm. Enclosed in standard 2U rackmount casing, manually operated switch includes front panel LED display that indicates all switch positions and unit power status. When power is lost, Model 6259R goes off-line and does not pass data.

Original Press Release:

RoHS Compliance is Just One Facet of this 16-Channel ST Simplex Fiber Optic A/B/Offline Switch

Electro Standards Laboratories, Cranston, RI, announces the new QuickSwitch 6259R RoHS Compliant network switch. This manually operated 16-channel ST simplex fiber optic A/B/Offline switch features MEMS-based mirror/prism switch technology that supports Gigabit data rates. In addition, this switch meets all of the requirements of RoHS Compliance.

The QuickSwitch® 6259R allows devices connected to the COMMON port of each channel access to the A or B port on each channel. All channels are switched simultaneously. The QuickSwitch® 6259R is enclosed in a standard 2U rackmount casing. The front panel LED display indicates all of the switch positions and unit power status.

The Model 6259R is bit-rate and data transparent. This switch features optical data throughput scalability. All fiber ports are ST simplex, multimode, 62.5/125 micron and support a wavelength of 850 nm. When power is lost, the Model 6259R goes off-line and does not pass data. When power is restored, the switch will retain its last position.
