Toronto, Canada - GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) has released its fiber optic light source specially designed for optimal use with GAO's 5302 optical power meter for measuring optical loss on both single and multi mode fiber cables. Featuring highly stable output power and wavelength, this light source is an ideal tool for optical network installation, trouble shooting and maintenance in telecommunications, CATV systems and other fiber optic networks. It belongs to GAO's Fiber Optic Instrument family of products.

The fiber optic light source, model 5201, provides dual-wavelength output to meet specific requirements including 1310/1550 nm wavelengths for single mode fiber and 850/1300 nm wavelengths for multimode fiber together with switchable modulation frequencies including CW, 270 Hz, 1 kHz and 2 kHz.
