Fiber Optic Identifier features low bending loss.

Press Release Summary:

Used during installation and maintenance of telecommunication and CATV systems, model A0640002 detects 270 Hz, 1 kHz, and 2 kHz signal frequency tones; identifies traffic direction in optical fiber; and indicates status via LEDs. Solution displays 3 levels of signal intensity and identifies optical signals at wavelengths from 900-1,650 nm. It does not require opening fiber at splice point for identification, and audible tone can be heard when destructive detection is present on fiber.

High Performance Fiber Optic Identifier Features Low Bending Loss

Toronto, Canada - GAO Instru ments (www.GAOInstruments.com) has released a fiber optic identifier which is ideal for use in the installation and maintenance of telecommunication and CATV systems. The identifier detects signal frequency tones of 270Hz, 1kHz and 2kHz. It efficiently and accurately identifies the traffic direction and frequency tone of a signal in an optical fiber and indicates status through LEDs.

This high performance optical fiber identifier, model A0640002, features low bending loss, offers an easy-to-replace adaptor and displays three levels of signal intensity. It identifies optical signals at wavelengths from 900 to 1650nm and does not require opening a fiber at a splice point for identification. In addition, an audible tone can be heard when destructive detection is present on the fiber during testing.
