Kulpsville, PA (October 2006)- Greene, Tweed has developed a new, leading-edge, fiber optic connector technology, Fiber Optic Extreme, capable of withstanding the harsh environments and extreme conditions commonly faced in challenging applications in a variety of markets, from defense to oilfield.

Greene, Tweed's new leading-edge Seal-Connect® Fiber Optic Extreme technology transfers data at rates ten times faster than traditional copper designs, allowing the user to make proactive, real-time decisions. Functioning in environments facing temperatures as high as 432° F (225°C) and pressures up to 30,000 psi (2,070 bar), Fiber Optic Extreme is available in single- or multi-mode configurations. Fiber Optic Extreme's insertion loss per channel is less than 0.5dB, and the back reflection is -50dB. The patent-pending design can be manufactured in lnconel®718, Hastelloy®C-276 or Stainless Steel 17-4pH.
